A Merry Monoline Christmas
$75.00

This is your chance to create great lettering with monoline tools: that beautiful glass

pen someone gave you that you haven’t known how to use; fineliners and bullet-tip

pens; as well as the round-tipped nib lurking in amongst all your other nibs.

No thicks and thins to worry about – just fun lettering, a little colour, and of course,

Christmas wouldn’t be complete without sparkle!

Suits all levels from beginners to advanced – anyone who wants to create their own

Christmas Cards.

  • MATERIALS LIST

    To create a colourful background

    • A4 sheets of watercolour paper (e.g. Reeves medium 200 gsm A4  watercolour pad)

    • 3 colours of acrylic ink of your choice (make sure they blend well together, e.g. blue, green, purple or pink, purple, blue or yellow, pink, red – not orange and green together)

    • I like to use a largish (6) mop-head brush, but a broad (12) flat brush would work

    • An A3 size piece of Masonite (available at Bunnings)

    • Masking tape

    • Water jars (several) & tissues

If you have none of these things, and no calligraphy experience but you still want to make a background, you can borrow mine.

If you do have some experience, you’ll find these things are very handy to have!

    For the lettering:

    • Your choice of black monoline tools, or small rounded nib, straight holder & black ink. (I will have some rounded nibs with me)

    • Coloured pencils in the same colours as your acrylic ink

    • Gold ink or a gold gel pen

    • Glitter glue (I like the ‘crystal’ clear one – whatever brand)

    • A cheap 000 size brush for the glue

    • A pencil & eraser

    • A4 bleedproof pad

Remember to bring your lunch & something to drink.
