Gentle Fraktur
from $75.00

Join Sally Diserio in another offering to our Beginner calligraphers, as we explore the Fraktur Hand. Fraktur is a distinctive style of Blackletter characterized by angular shapes and elaborate embellishments. Its name comes from the Latin fractura (meaning broken) because of its non-continuous strokes.

This class will provide a natural transition from Sally’s earlier Gothic Blackletter class however, we begin with the usual introduction to calligraphic practices such as pen angles and basic shapes, so all skill levels are welcome.

We will then work to produce both a lower and upper case alphabet with a view to creating a finished piece.
