Colour Linocut Prints with Multiple Plates
Tamara McKimmie presents a two day workshop creating coloured linocut prints. Starting with an initial design idea-photos, sketches, collage - we will simplify and separate it into colours, transferring the images to 2 or 3 lino blocks to create colour layers. After carving each plate, we will use Ternes Burton™ Pins and tabs and a simple registration board to ensure correct positioning of each colour layer, and proof and print a small edition by hand and/or small press.
The workshop will include design, image transfer, lino carving tools and technique, colour and colour mixing, registration and printing.
